My role at Omega Red Group
My role as Electrical Manager is to oversee operations within the power earthing department, developing structure, growth, quality of work and quality of life for our employees and clients.
My background and experience
I’m an electrician by trade, having spent a decade in the rail, power generation and distribution sectors. My experience ranges from working and commissioning low voltage 12/24-volt control systems to 400kV power station busbar galleries.
I made the decision to move into office‑based engineering positions, taking on Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE), project engineer and project manager roles. I later joined Omega Red Group as a Project Manager and progressed to Electrical Manager, where I now oversee the electrical and power earthing departments and am part of the business’s Quality Committee, Senior Management Team, Estimating Development Programme and Business Strategy Team.
How I add value
- I connect customers with specialist electrical and power earthing services by identifying growth opportunities that allow Omega Red’s electrical department to expand and strengthen its service offering.
- I improve the structure and quality of Omega Red’s operational and engineering controls, supporting the technical nature of our work and ensuring a consistently high standard of delivery.
- I adapt in high-pressure environments to solve problems and keep projects moving forward, ensuring Omega Red’s clients receive a reliable, high-quality outcome.
Fun fact
I spend some of my spare time ‘geeking out’ over space exploration and quantum mechanics, maybe with the odd video game. Most of my time is spent with my two young daughters, chasing them around soft play and inflatable parks. Who needs the gym when squat jogging through a low-ceilinged soft play course!
