Surge protection design

Surge protection measures can be designed for any number of applications, where there is a desire to prevent electrocution, dangerous sparking and risk of fire, as a result of lightning current effects; and reduce the risk of failure of electrical equipment and systems from transient overvoltages.

The starting point in surge protection system design is an assessment of the actual risks faced by a building owner or occupier. Omega’s electrically qualified and competent design engineers use the risk management processes and guidance, provided by BS EN 62305 and BS 7671, to determine whether or not measures are required.
