The business welcomes Iain Coleman as interest in its EV commercial infrastructure installation and maintenance solutions grows
Omega Red, UK market leader in earthing, lightning and height safety protection, has welcomed Iain Coleman to the business to lead the growth of its EV charging infrastructure solutions division, supporting UK commercial companies with their environmental policy ambitions. Iain joins the business with vast experience in senior roles across essential infrastructure markets, having previously worked for a number of large UK companies with a focus in the utility services sector.
As part of South Staffordshire Plc, Omega Red is harnessing the significant expertise we have within all our Group companies – many of which are specialist infrastructure contractors – to offer a unique end to end solution for commercial companies looking to install and maintain EV charging infrastructure.
The team can assess the electrical loading of the existing supply, liaise with Distribution Network Operators / Independent Distribution Network Operators to increase capacity to meet EV charging demands, undertake feasibility studies to support internal project justification, support with identifying relevant government funding, provide full turn-key design, procurement and project installation and, finally, offer ongoing maintenance packages.
Neil Shailer, managing director, Omega Red commented: “With the UK now more rapidly adopting electric vehicles, charging infrastructure installation is starting to experience rapid growth and we’re delighted, drawing upon our expertise gained through working in highly regulated industries, to be installing and project managing charging solutions for commercial premises, existing petrol forecourt and public car park clients. Iain is a key appointment for us to support our future growth in this space, and we are delighted to welcome him to our business.”
Iain Coleman, head of EV services, Omega Red added: “It’s a great time to join Omega Red as the business expands its core skills and services into new emerging asset markets. Commercial clients are beginning to more seriously consider EV charging infrastructure given the current environmental agenda and are looking for specialist advice, guidance, and project management to achieve their ambitions. I’m really looking forward to working with both existing and new clients to help them achieve their goals.”
